Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Chalmers Road at around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 9, where there was a crash involving two vehicles, officials said.

It is unclear what caused the crash, which left both vehicles with extensive damage - one in the middle of the road and one on the sidewalk - and completely destroyed the bus stop in the area that was sent onto a nearby fence.

According to a spokesperson for the agency, several injuries were reported, but investigators did not disclose their severity. The bus stop was also determined to be "unusable."

While crews investigated and cleared the area, several lanes were blocked in the area.
